Groups
One of the most successful programs run by the Recreation Department are group activities. The MontroseAccess Recreation Department offers a range of different group activities including the over 15's Social Group, Kids Clubs, Girls' Groups, Boys' Groups, and a Bowling Group. These groups target either children within a geographical area, or of a particular age/age range. Groups are designed to encourage social interaction and the building of social networks between participants and participants parents, provide opportunities to develop new skills and provide participants with opportunities similar to those of their peers. Group objectives and targets can also be set around the therapy goals and needs of participants.
Groups are offered by our Corinda, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast based Recreation Officers.
Camps
The aim of the Camps is to broaden recreation experiences for clients in a safe and well supported setting. As a valuable service, the camps are usually well patronised by clients, and nearly always have a waiting list. The Recreation Department runs three week long camps per year: 15-18 years camp, 12-14 years adventure camp and the Schoolies/Graduation camp. 2008 saw the introduction of a weekend camp for clients aged 10 & 11 years and the continuation of existing weekend camps run in conjunction with the Family Support Department. These included siblings camps, specific condition camps (ie arthritis) and a girls camp.
Holiday Activities
During the school holidays, activities are provided for clients both onsite at the Corinda and Regional offices and off site at various locations around South East Queensland. Targeted at primary and high school aged clients, the activities are whole day experiences which include crafts, cooking, outings, bowling, sport, games etc. As well as benefiting the clients, the activities also allow parents day respite time.

Leisure Counselling
Leisure counselling is an individualised service for clients who require assistance to participate in leisure, recreation or sports activities within their local communities. Children with physical disabilities may need assistance with creating their leisure opportunities for the following reasons:
- They may be socially isolated
- They may not know how to access sporting/recreational organisations in their area
- They may assume they are unable to participate in a particular activity because of their disability
- Their families may need education and support
- The community organisations which offer leisure activities may need education and support to include the child
