In-home Respite
In-home respite is the provision of support to families and clients in their own home. An individual assessment of client needs ensures that an in-home respite service meets the requirements of the family and child concerned.
Disability support workers provide assistance with areas including personal care, implementation of therapy programs, and homework. As well as these duties, the support worker is able to provide some support for family members to pursue activities outside of the home, including overnight in-home stays. This type of respite care allows families the opportunity to have an undisturbed night of sleep.
Due to resource and funding limitations, in-home respite is restricted to clients of MontroseAccess only with careful consideration of the number of hours each week a family is able to access.
Admission to the service is dependent on the availability of hours and the priority of need.
