Hydrotherapy

MontroseAccess offers a Hydrotherapy Pool for use specifically by people who need Aquatic Physiotherapy – treatment and indirect physiotherapy programs carried out in a hydrotherapy medium.

Open to clients and members of the public, the pool is situated in a fully enclosed building at MontroseAccess, Corinda. The centre is adjacent to level parking and is fully accessible with change rooms, hoists and equipment to support users with disabilities in the pool.

The pool measures 9 m by 13 m with a depth range of 1 – 1.2 metres. Entry is by steps or hoist and the temperature of the water is kept at an average of 33.5 degrees Celsius.

Hydrotherapy Entry Requirements

Because of the nature of the pool, assessments are required prior to use. These include completion of a medical certificate, which can be downloaded here, and in most cases, production of a Physiotherapy program, which can be downloaded here

Infection control guidelines for entry must be adhered to and MontroseAccess reserves the right to exclude persons whose use of the pool represents a high risk to themselves and/or other users.

Our Staff

Our Pool Lifeguard (Mark Gawne) has a Royal Lifesaving Bronze Medallion and a Royal Lifesaving Pool Lifeguard qualification. Mark also holds a Swimming Pool Superintendent’s Certificate and Certificate in Swimming Pool Water Technology.
