MontroseAccess understands the importance of equipment for supporting children with physical disabilities. We know how expensive equipment is and we try to assist families with short term equipment loans and hire where there is a government shortfall or a gap in provision.
The equipment loan pool is provided by MontroseAccess and all equipment is loaned entirely at the organisation's discretion.
The objective of the loan pool is to provide short term assistance to the family whilst they source their own equipment, which they may purchase or have provided through the government. Where possible, our staff will advocate for funding on behalf of a family to purchase necessary equipment which is not provided by the government. Equipment is loaned or hired for a specified length of time after which it must be returned to the loan pool.
Who Can Borrow Equipment?
Equipment from the MontroseAccess equipment loan pool is available to:
- MontroseAccess clients and their family
- Representatives from other government and non-government organisations who may be providing services to a MontroseAccess client
- Clients of member organisations of Ability First Australia
In some instances, MontroseAccess may charge a hire fee for the equipment. This hire fee is waived for direct loans to client families and loans to not for profit organisations.
Disability Equipment - Second Hand
Those wishing to sell their own equipment may use MontroseAccess as a place to promote their goods. Sellers simply need to fill in the Second Hand Register template completing details such as description of the item, selling price and seller contact details, and email it to info@montroseaccess.org.au. Items will remain listed on our website for three months unless advised by the seller. Sellers are also to advise of sale of item so it can be removed from the website.
